What Can I Expect from Physical Therapy?

The first visit to physical therapy is called the initial evaluation, where the

physical therapist takes a close look at the root of the ailment and determines a

treatment plan. The examination lasts one hour, while the following visits, or

treatment sessions, last about 45 minutes. Each treatment plan is individualized

depending on the person and condition, and may involve exercises, stretches,

modalities, or manual therapy to improve flexibility, strength, endurance,

coordination, and balance.
